Cori Brander AGAC, NP-BC

Ms. Brander completed her undergraduate degree at Norfolk State University and obtained her Master's in Nursing from Walden University as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Brander is certified as a Neuroscience nurse (CNRN), stroke nurse (SCRN), and emergency neuroscience life support (ENLS). She was the recipient of the CNRN of the Year Award in 2013. Ms. Brander is the president of the Southeastern Virginia American Association of Neuroscience Nurses and is a guest lecturer for various organizations. She has developed stroke education for the public, patients, nursing, and physicians. She helped lead a rural hospital to become the local area’s first Comprehensive Stroke Program. She is trained in all neurological conditions but has a special interest in stroke, dementia, and multiple sclerosis. She is an active member of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers, the American Academy of Neurology, and the American Academy of Neuroscience Nurses. Her interest in MS includes cognitive function, mood disorders, acute, new, and emerging therapies as well as Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorders, and health issues specifically related to women.
